# Add your email to Outlook for Mac

Add your Inleed email address to Outlook on your Mac, so you can read and send your email there.

## Before you start

- Have the email address and the email account’s password ready. The username is the full email address.

## Email client settings

- **Account type:** IMAP
- **Server:** `mail.inleed.com`
- **Username:** The full email address
- **Password:** The email account’s password
- **Incoming (IMAP):** Port 993, SSL/TLS
- **Outgoing (SMTP):** Port 465, SSL/TLS
- **Outgoing server requires login:** Yes, the same as incoming

## How to add your email

1. Open Outlook and choose **Outlook › Settings › Accounts › + Add Account**.

   Already have an account: **Tools › Accounts › + Add Account**.

2. Enter your email address and click **Continue**.

3. If Outlook suggests the wrong provider, click the **Not […]?** link and choose **IMAP** in the list.

4. Choose **Sync directly with IMAP**.

   Outlook then connects straight to Inleed instead of through Microsoft Cloud.

5. Fill in the username, password and servers from the settings.

   Tick **Use SSL to connect** for both servers.

6. Click **Add Account** and then **Done**.

## How to know it worked

Your inbox appears in Outlook.

## If something doesn’t work

### Outlook warns about the certificate

**Why:** The certificate is issued for `mail.inleed.com`, not for your domain.

**What to do:** Change the incoming and outgoing server to `mail.inleed.com`.

### I can’t send email

**What to do:** Check that the outgoing server has port 465, SSL and the same login as the incoming server.

### Outlook opens your browser and asks you to sign in with Microsoft

**Why:** The account was added through Microsoft Cloud.

**What to do:** Remove the account and add it again. Choose **Sync directly with IMAP**.
