# Why was my hosting upgraded automatically?

## Answer

The Elastic Scaling add-on upgraded it, because your website hit its resource limits repeatedly. Elastic Scaling is on by default on new hosting accounts and moves your hosting to the next plan as a trial.

You get an email about the upgrade. If you want to keep the larger plan, you confirm it during the trial. Otherwise your hosting goes back to the earlier plan by itself.

## Good to know

- Under **Resource Usage** in DirectAdmin you can see what hit the limit.

- You turn Elastic Scaling on and off under **Upgrades** in the [client area](https://login.inleed.net).
