# Can I cancel my hosting and keep my domain?

## Answer

Yes. Your domain is a separate service and stays when you cancel your hosting.

But the hosting and everything on it is deleted when the period ends: the website, the files and the email accounts. Save what you want to keep before then.

## Good to know

- Email needs active web hosting. To keep your email, you need web hosting, or email with another provider.
- DNS is included free for a domain registered with Inleed, even without web hosting. If the DNS zone is on your hosting, move it before you cancel: **DNS / Nameservers › DNS Records › Move to standalone DNS**. The records move with it.
- Unpaid invoices don’t count as cancelling. Cancel the hosting, or turn off **Auto Invoice** so that it ends on its expiry date.
