# I can’t log in to my email

You can’t get in to webmail or your email app. It’s often down to the username, the password or a blocked IP address.

## Common causes

### 1. Wrong username

**Check:** Is the username the full email address?

**What to do:** Enter the full address in lowercase letters.

### 2. You’ve forgotten the password

**Check:** The email account has its own password, separate from the client area’s. It can’t be retrieved, only changed.

**What to do:** Change the password for the email account in DirectAdmin.

### 3. It used to work but now nothing does

**Check:** Have repeated failed logins blocked your IP address?

**What to do:** Whitelist your IP address and correct the password on all your devices.

### 4. You can’t find webmail

**Check:** Don’t know the address for webmail?

**What to do:** Open [webmail](https://mail.inleed.com/) (`mail.inleed.com`) and enter your email address, and you’re sent to the right server.

### 5. Webmail works but the app doesn’t

**Check:** Can you get in to webmail but not the app?

**What to do:** Then the problem is in the app’s settings.

### 6. The new Outlook wants an app password

**Check:** Are you using the new Outlook? It requires an app password, and Inleed doesn’t have them.

**What to do:** Use classic Outlook or Thunderbird.
