# Change your DirectAdmin password

You change your DirectAdmin password in the client area, even if you’ve forgotten the old one. The same password is used for SSH and SFTP.

## Faster: let an AI app do it

If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:

> Change the DirectAdmin password for the hosting example.se

## How to change it

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and click **Manage** next to your hosting.

   Your hosting’s page opens.

2. Open the **DirectAdmin** tab.

3. Enter a new password in the **Password** field.

4. Click **Save changes**.

## How to know it worked

The new password works right away.

## Good to know

- The DirectAdmin password is separate from the client area password. You log in to DirectAdmin straight from the client area without a password.

- The same password is used for SSH and SFTP.
- The password can’t be shown afterwards, only changed.
