# Change PHP settings for your website

The PHP settings control, among other things, how large files you can upload and how much memory your website may use. Change them when WordPress or a plugin needs more.

## Faster: let an AI app do it

If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:

> Set upload_max_filesize to 64M on the hosting for example.se

## How to change them

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and click your hosting under **Websites, email & DNS**.

   DirectAdmin opens. No password is needed.

2. Open **Extra Features** in the menu and click **Select PHP version**.

3. Open the **Options** tab.

4. Click the value you want to change, for example **upload_max_filesize** for larger uploads, and pick a new one.

## How to know it worked

The new value is shown in the list under **Options**.

## If something doesn’t work

### The upload is still stopped

**Why:** **post_max_size** is smaller than **upload_max_filesize**.

**What to do:** Raise **post_max_size** so that it is larger than **upload_max_filesize**, but not larger than **memory_limit**.

### The value doesn’t take effect

**Why:** The domain has its own settings, or the website sets its own value.

**What to do:** Check under **Per Domain Settings** and in the website’s own settings.

## Good to know

- If you change PHP version, you may need to change the settings again.
