# Connect to Storage with FileZilla

Storage is external storage for backups and files, separate from web hosting and VPS. You connect with an FTP program such as FileZilla.

## Right guide?

- Want more space on your web hosting? Storage doesn’t extend your hosting.

- Want more disk on your VPS? Storage doesn’t extend the server’s disk.
  [Upgrade your VPS](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/upgrade-vps)

## Before you start

- Install FileZilla if you don’t already have it. [Download FileZilla](https://filezilla-project.org/)

## Storage details

- **Server:** `bs1.inleed.net`
- **SFTP:** Port 22
- **FTPS:** Port 21
- **Username and password:** In the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) under **Services › Storage › Manage**

## How to connect

1. Open FileZilla and open the **Site Manager**.

2. Add a new site.

3. Choose the protocol and fill in the server, port, username and password from the Storage details.

4. Connect to the server.

## How to know it worked

You see the storage in FileZilla’s right-hand pane and can drag files there.

## If something doesn’t work

### The login fails

**Why:** Wrong password. Storage has its own password, not the same as DirectAdmin’s.

**What to do:** Check or change the password under **Services › Storage › Manage** in the [client area](https://login.inleed.net). A new password works straight away.

### I can’t upload files

**Why:** You can only write to the `/backup` folder.

**What to do:** Open the `/backup` folder in the right-hand pane and drag the files there.

## Good to know

- Need more space? Upgrade Storage with **Show upgrades** in the client area. Two accounts can’t be merged.
