# Create an email account

An email account is an address on your domain with its own mailbox. You create it in [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin).

## Faster: let an AI app do it

If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:

## How to create the account

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and click your hosting under **Websites, email & DNS**.

   DirectAdmin opens. No password needed.

   If you have several hosting accounts, choose the one the domain is on.

2. Click **E-mail Accounts**.

   It’s under **E-mail Manager** in the menu. Click that first if the list is closed.

3. Choose the domain the address should have, if you have several on your hosting.

4. Click **Create Account**.

5. Enter the first part of the address under **Username**, for example `info`.

   The domain is already shown after the field.

6. Click **Generate Random Password**.

   A strong password is filled in. You see it again once the account is created.

7. Enter the size in MB under **E-mail Quota (MB)** and the emails per day under **Daily Send Limit**.

   The number of emails is required, at most 500. For example: E-mail Quota (MB): `1000` Daily Send Limit: `250`

   The size is pre-filled with only 50 MB, which fills up fast. Enter a higher value or tick **Max**.

8. Click **Create Account**.

## How to know it worked

The account is created. The **Account created** box shows the username, password and servers for your email app. Save the password now.

## If something doesn’t work

### It says “Required Field” under a field

**Why:** The field is empty. It’s usually **Daily Send Limit**, which has no default value.

**What to do:** Enter, for example, `250` in the field and create the account again.

### It says “E-Mail account already exists”

**Why:** The address already exists on the domain.

**What to do:** Choose another name, or change the password of the existing address.

### The domain isn’t in the list

**Why:** The domain hasn’t been added to your hosting.

## Good to know

- You can create as many addresses as you like, as long as your hosting has space.
- On iPhone, iPad and Mac you can download a ready-made settings profile from the menu on the address’s row.
