# Download a copy of your website

You can make a backup of your hosting yourself in DirectAdmin and save it on your computer, for example before bigger changes or before you cancel your hosting.

## How to download a copy

1. Log in to [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin) and open **Create/Restore Backups** under **Advanced Features**.

2. Choose what to include and click **Backup**.

   You get an email when the backup is ready.

3. Download the file from the `backups` folder in **File Manager**.

## How to know it worked

You have a copy of your hosting on your own computer.

## Good to know

- The backup file takes up space on your hosting. Delete it once you’ve downloaded it.
- Inleed takes a backup every day, but your own copy is good to have before bigger changes.
