# Sort email with filters in webmail

With filters in webmail, your emails are sorted automatically, for example newsletters into their own folder. You choose what the filter looks for and what should happen.

## How to create a filter

1. Log in to [webmail](https://mail.inleed.com/), click **Settings** and choose **Filters**.

2. Click **Create**.

3. Give the filter a name under **Filter name**, for example `Newsletters`.

4. Under **Rules**, choose what the filter looks at, for example **From** or **Subject**.

5. Leave **contains** as it is and enter what should match, for example the sender’s address.

6. Under **Actions**, choose what should happen, for example **Move message to** or **Send message copy to**.

7. Choose the folder, or enter the address if you chose to send a copy.

8. Click **Save**.

## How to know it worked

New emails that match the rule are handled automatically. The filter applies both in webmail and in email apps.

## Good to know

- Marking an email as spam doesn’t block the sender. To get rid of a sender, block them in the spam filter.

- If all email should be sent on to another address, use forwarding instead.
