# Is my VPS backed up?

## Answer

No, not on a standard VPS. Backups come with the Backup or Server maintenance add-on. A snapshot of the whole server is then taken every week and kept on external storage.

## Good to know

- You add them on your VPS’s page in the [client area](https://login.inleed.net), with **Add backups** or **Add Server maintenance**.
- Server maintenance also covers installations, updates, troubleshooting, optimisation, monitoring and 24/7 on-call support.
- Before a risky change you can take a restore point yourself under **Backups**. It’s deleted automatically after 6 hours.
