# Keep your email with another provider

Moving your website to Inleed but keeping your email with your current provider? Point the domain’s MX records there and turn off Inleed’s own email handling.

## Right guide?

- Is your email with Microsoft 365?

- Is your email with Google Workspace?

## Before you start

- Find out which MX records your email provider wants, and have them ready.
- Does the domain use another provider’s nameservers? Then make the DNS changes there instead.

## How to keep your email

1. Open **E-mail Manager › MX Records** in [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin) and click **Add Record**.

Make the change here, not in the client area.

2. Add your provider’s MX records and remove the MX record that points to Inleed.

**Important:** If you leave the box ticked, email from your website, such as contact forms, goes to an empty mailbox at Inleed instead.

3. Untick **Use this server to handle my e-mails** and save.

4. Add your provider’s `include` to the SPF record that’s already there, under **DNS Management** in DirectAdmin.

Don’t create a new SPF record. The domain should have only one.

## How to know it worked

Your email goes to your provider, and email from your website to the same domain arrives.

## Good to know

- A domain receives email in one place. You can’t have some addresses at Inleed and others with another provider.
