# Move a domain to another Inleed account

You can move a domain from your account to another Inleed account, for example an association’s or a new company’s. Both accounts confirm the move by email.

## Right guide?

- Is the domain getting a new owner? A move between accounts only changes who manages and pays for the domain.

## Before you start

- Have the recipient’s email address and customer ID ready. The customer ID is at the bottom of the recipient’s client area.

## How to move it

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and click **Manage** next to the domain.

   The domain’s page opens.

2. Click **Move to another account**.

A box for moving to another account opens.

3. Enter the recipient’s email address and customer ID.

4. Click **Send for confirmation**.

## How to know it worked

Both accounts confirm the move by email, and the recipient chooses a billing profile. Then the domain is in the recipient’s account.

## If something doesn’t work

### It won’t send, or no account is found

**Why:** The email address and the customer ID don’t belong to the same account.

**What to do:** Check both with the recipient.

## Good to know

- A domain can only be on one account at a time.
- The move is free, and no transfer code is needed.
- The domain and your hosting are separate services. If the hosting should move too, tick it as well. Email follows the hosting.
