# Move WordPress to another domain

With Installatron you copy the website to another domain, for example from a development address to your real domain. The original is not affected.

## Before you start

- The new domain must be added to your hosting.

## How to move it

1. Log in to [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin), open Installatron and click **My Applications**.

2. Click **Clone** next to the website.

3. Choose the new domain with https and leave the folder field empty.

   That puts the website directly on the domain.

4. Click **Clone**.

5. [Create an SSL certificate](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/turn-on-ssl-certificate) for the new domain, if it doesn’t have one yet.

## How to know it worked

The website is on the new domain. The original is untouched.

## Good to know

- Should the old address send visitors on? Redirect the old domain once you have checked the new one.

- Installatron never overwrites an existing installation. If something is already on the new domain, remove it first.
