# Read your email in Gmail

You can read your Inleed email in Gmail. In the Gmail app you add the address directly. To Gmail in your browser, you forward your email.

## Before you start

- Have the email address and the email account’s password ready. The username is the full email address.

## Email client settings

- **Type:** IMAP
- **Server:** `mail.inleed.com`
- **Username:** The full email address
- **Incoming (IMAP):** Port 993, SSL/TLS
- **Outgoing (SMTP):** Port 465, SSL/TLS

## How to add your email

### A. The Gmail app

On your phone. The app fetches your email directly with IMAP.

1. Open the Gmail app, choose **Add another account** and then **Other**.

2. Enter your email address, choose **Personal (IMAP)** and fill in the password and servers from the settings.

### B. Gmail in your browser

Gmail.com can no longer fetch email from other accounts. Forward it instead.

1. Set up forwarding from the address to your Gmail address in [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin).

2. Open Gmail on your computer and go to **Settings › Accounts and import**.

3. Click **Add another email address** under **Send mail as**.

4. Enter your address and fill in the outgoing server, with the full email address and password as the login.

   Gmail sends a confirmation to the address. It arrives through the forwarding.

## How to know it worked

Emails to your address appear in Gmail, and you can reply from the address.

## Good to know

- Forwarded emails can end up in Gmail’s spam folder. Check there for the first few days.
- Always send through `mail.inleed.com`. If Gmail sends with its own servers, your emails can end up in the recipient’s spam folder, because your domain’s SPF record doesn’t approve Gmail’s servers.
