# Redirect a domain to another address

You can send visitors from one domain on to another address, or show the same website on several domains. You do both in DirectAdmin.

## Faster: let an AI app do it

If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:

> Redirect all visitors on example.se to shop.example.se

Done. Visitors to example.se are now sent on to shop.example.se.

## Before you start

- The domain must point to your hosting, both with and without www. Otherwise the redirect doesn’t work.

## How to redirect it

### A. Send visitors on

The domain should change address in the browser to another website.

1. Log in to [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin), open **Account Manager › Site Redirects** and choose the domain.

2. Click **Create new redirect**.

3. Enter this character `/` as the path, choose `301` as the type and enter the address visitors should go to.

A 301 means the move is permanent, which is best for search engines.

4. Click **Create**.

### B. Show the same website on several domains

The domain should show your website, without the address changing.

1. Log in to [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin) and open **Account Manager › Domain Pointers**.

2. Enter the extra domain under **Source domain** and choose your website under **Target domain**.

3. Click **Create pointer**.

## How to know it worked

Anyone visiting the domain ends up at the new address, or sees your website if you chose B.

## If something doesn’t work

### The browser says the page redirects too many times

**Why:** Two redirects point to each other.

**What to do:** Remove one of them.

### It doesn’t work at all

**Why:** The domain doesn’t point to your hosting.

**What to do:** Point the domain and www to your hosting.

## Good to know

- To redirect a subdomain, it must first exist in DirectAdmin.
