# Reinstall your VPS

A reinstall erases the server and installs a new operating system. Do it when you want to switch systems or start over from scratch.

## Right guide?

- Installing Windows Server?

## Faster: let an AI app do it

If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:

> Reinstall my VPS with Debian 13

The app prepares the reinstall. You approve it in the client area.

## Before you start

- Everything on the server is erased. Back up anything you want to keep first.

## How to reinstall

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and click **Manage** next to your VPS.

   Your VPS’s page opens.

2. Open the operating system tab and click **Reinstall the server**.

A box with the operating systems opens.

**Important:** Everything on the server is erased and can’t be restored.

3. Choose an operating system and confirm.

We email you a link to confirm with.

4. Click the link in the email to confirm.

## How to know it worked

The server is reinstalled with the operating system you chose. When it’s ready, you get the new login by email as a one-time link.

## Good to know

- You can choose, among others, AlmaLinux, Debian, Fedora, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu and Windows Server 2025. The selection can change.
