# Restore a WordPress backup in Installatron

A backup in Installatron takes WordPress back to how the website looked when the backup was made, for example before an update.

## How to restore it

1. Log in to [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin), open Installatron and click **My Backups**.

2. Find the website’s backup and click **Restore**.

3. Choose whether to restore the files, the database or both.

**Important:** Changes to the website made after the backup are lost.

4. Confirm the restore.

## How to know it worked

The website is as it was when the backup was made.
