# Restore deleted email from a backup

If you’ve deleted email and emptied the trash, you can bring it back from a backup. How depends on your hosting plan.

## How to restore it

### A. Prime and Ultra

You can restore only the email with JetBackup.

1. Open **Extra Features › JetBackup** in [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin) and choose **Email Accounts**.

2. Choose the day before the email was deleted and select the email account.

3. Click **Restore**.

   **Restore Options** merges the backup with what’s there, so new email is kept.

### B. Standard and Special

Only the whole hosting account can be restored.

**Important:** Everything is replaced: website, databases and all email. Email that arrived after that day is lost. Save it first.

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and restore the whole hosting account under **Backups**.

## How to know it worked

The email is back in the mailbox.

## Good to know

- Look in the trash in [webmail](https://mail.inleed.com/) first. Deleted email stays there for a while.
- A backup is taken every day. Email that arrived and was deleted on the same day isn’t in any backup.
- Backups are kept for 7 days on Standard and Special, and for 30 days on Prime and Ultra.
