# Get started with the router from Inleed

The router we sell is a Comfast. The first time, you connect it and set your own wifi password.

## Right guide?

- Do you have a different router?

- Need to open a port, for example for a camera?

## How to get started

### A. The first time

The router is new or has been reset.

1. Connect a network cable from the fibre box’s LAN port to the router’s **WAN** port, and plug in the power.

Don’t use the fibre box’s WAN port.

2. Connect to the wifi network `COMFAST_` plus the last 4 characters of the MAC address on the label.

There are often 2 networks, ending in `_2G` and `_5G`.

3. Open this address `http://192.168.0.1`, choose **English** and click **Experience it now**.

4. Choose **Dynamic IP (DHCP)** as the connection type and click **Next**.

Don’t choose **PPPoE** or **Static IP**.

5. Enter a wifi password in **Password** under **2.4G**, leave the rest and click **Done**.

If **Use 2.4G password as router management password** is ticked, it also becomes the password for the settings page.

6. Wait while the router restarts, then connect to the wifi network with the password you chose.

### B. Change the wifi name or password

The router is already set up.

1. Connect to the router’s wifi, open this address `http://192.168.0.1` and log in with the settings page password.

You chose it the first time, often the same as the wifi password.

2. Open the wifi settings, change the name and password for both networks and save.

3. Connect your devices again with the new name or password.

## How to know it worked

You’re connected to the router’s wifi with your own password, and the internet works.

## If something doesn’t work

### I can’t find a network called COMFAST_

**Why:** Your neighbours’ networks show too, or the router already has another name.

**What to do:** Unplug the router and see which network disappears. That one is yours. You can also connect your computer by cable to a LAN port.

### The page 192.168.0.1 won’t open

**Why:** The device isn’t connected to the router, or has a fixed IP address or a proxy set.

**What to do:** Connect directly to the router’s wifi or by cable. Let the computer get its IP address automatically and turn off any proxy.

### I don’t know the password for the wifi or the settings page

**Why:** The password can’t be retrieved, by you or by us.

**What to do:** Hold down **Reset** with a paper clip for at least 7 seconds while the router has power. Wait 2 minutes and do the first-time steps again.

### Wifi works but the internet doesn’t

**What to do:** Check that the cable runs from the fibre box’s LAN port to the router’s WAN port, and that **Dynamic IP (DHCP)** is chosen.
