# Set up WireGuard VPN

You use WireGuard VPN with the WireGuard app on your computer or phone. You download a configuration for the device and import it in the app.

## Before you start

- You have the WireGuard VPN service.

## How to set it up

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net), open **Services** and click **Manage** next to WireGuard VPN.

   The VPN panel opens after a short load.

2. Open the **Installation** tab and download the WireGuard app for your computer or phone.

**Important:** The file and the QR code contain your device’s key. Don’t share them with anyone.

3. Go back to **Manage devices** and click **Download** next to the location you want to connect through.

   On your phone, choose **Scan QR** instead and scan the code with the WireGuard app.

4. Open WireGuard, choose **Import** and select the file you downloaded.

   On a computer, it’s **File › Import**.

5. Turn on the connection in WireGuard.

## How to know it worked

Your traffic goes through Inleed’s VPN. You can check your IP address on a site that shows it.

## If something doesn’t work

### My iPhone won’t turn on the connection

**Why:** The WireGuard app hasn’t been allowed to add a VPN profile, or your operator or employer is blocking VPN.

**What to do:** Allow the VPN profile on your iPhone and try again, preferably on another network.

## Good to know

- The service covers 5 devices. Each device gets its own configuration: pick the device under **Manage devices** or click **Add new device**.
- You can connect through Stockholm, Tällberg, Los Angeles or London. **Download all configurations (zip)** gives you all locations at once.
- A router must support WireGuard. Support doesn’t help with the settings in your own router.
