# Upload files to your website

Your website’s files go in the `public_html` folder under your domain. Upload them with “File Manager” in DirectAdmin or with an FTP program.

## How to upload them

### A. File Manager

A few files, right in your browser.

1. Log in to [DirectAdmin](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/log-in-to-directadmin) and open **File Manager**.

2. Double-click **domains**, then your domain and finally `public_html`.

3. Click **Upload** and choose the files.

### B. FTP program

Many files or a whole website.

1. Connect with an FTP program, for example FileZilla.

2. Open the `domains/yourdomain.com/public_html` folder and drag the files over.

## How to know it worked

The files are in `public_html` on your website.

## Good to know

- A zip archive uploads faster. Unpack it in **File Manager** afterwards.
- Files should have the permission `644` and folders `755`.
