# Whitelist your IP address in the firewall

The firewall blocks an IP address after a few failed logins. You then can’t reach your website, webmail or DirectAdmin from that network. You whitelist it yourself in the client area.

## Right guide?

- Can’t log in to the client area?
[I can’t log in to the client area](https://inleed.com/helpcenter/cant-log-in-client-area)
- Does your website work, but not your email?

## Faster: let an AI app do it

If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:

> Unblock the IP address 198.51.100.23 on example.se

Done. The IP address is no longer blocked on your hosting’s server.

## Before you start

- Do this from the computer or network that can’t reach the website, for example at home on wifi. The button whitelists the address you’re connected from.
- The client area isn’t blocked, so you can log in there even when the website is.

## How to whitelist it

1. Log in to the [client area](https://login.inleed.net) and click **Manage** next to your hosting.

   Your hosting’s page opens.

2. Click **Whitelist IP-address**.

Your IP address is whitelisted straight away. A confirmation appears after a few seconds.

If you click from your phone, the phone’s address is whitelisted, not the one that’s blocked.

## How to know it worked

A message confirms that the IP address is whitelisted. Reload the page that didn’t work.

## If something doesn’t work

### It still doesn’t work

**Why:** The IP address that was whitelisted isn’t the one that’s blocked, for example because you were connected through your phone.

**What to do:** Do it again from the computer that can’t reach the website. You can see the computer’s address on [ip.inleed.se](https://ip.inleed.se).

### The block comes back, or hits another computer

**Why:** A device is trying to log in with an old password, usually an email app.

**What to do:** Update the password in all apps and computers that fetch the email.

## Good to know

- Need someone else’s IP address whitelisted, for example a developer’s or an office’s? Email [support](mailto:support@inleed.se) from the account’s email address with their public IP address. Whole address ranges are normally not approved, and local addresses like `192.168.x.x` can’t be whitelisted.
