Add a DNS record
Services like Google or MailerLite often ask you to add a DNS record. If the domain uses Inleed’s nameservers, you add it yourself.

Before you start
- Have the record’s type, name and value from the service ready.
- The domain must use Inleed’s nameservers. Otherwise, add the record where the domain’s DNS is handled.

How to know it worked
Done
The record is in the list.
Waiting time
The record usually works within a few minutes. A changed record can take up to an hour.
If something doesn’t work
It says the record could not be created
Why: Usually a CNAME on a name that already has another record, or on @.
What to do: Delete the old record on the same name first. On @, use an A record instead.
The name came out twice, for example www.yourdomain.com.yourdomain.com
What to do: Delete the record and add it again with only the start of the name.
The service can’t find the record
What to do: Wait 5 minutes and try again. If that doesn’t help, check that the domain uses Inleed’s nameservers.
Change the nameservers for your domainGood to know
- Services like Google or MailerLite name the fields differently: Host or Name goes in Name, and Value, Target or Points to goes in Points To.
