Create a WordPress staging copy

A staging copy is a copy of your website on a subdomain. There you can test changes without touching the live site.

How to create it

Create a subdomain with its own public_html, for example staging.yourdomain.com.

Log in to DirectAdmin, open Installatron and click My Applications.

Click Clone next to the website.

Choose the subdomain as the target and leave the folder field empty.

Click Clone.

The copy is on the subdomain. The original is untouched.

Don’t put the copy in a subfolder of your website. Use a subdomain.
When you’re happy, you can sync the changes back with Sync in Installatron, or redo them on the original.
