Create a subdomain

A subdomain is an address in front of your domain, such as shop.yourdomain.com. It gets its own folder on your hosting.

Before you start

The domain must already be on your hosting. The subdomain is created on the same account as the domain.

Log in to DirectAdmin and open Subdomain Management.

Click Add Subdomain.

Enter the name that goes in front of the domain, for example shop, and save.

The subdomain exists, with its own folder under the domain’s public_html.

Should the subdomain have its own public_html, for example for a staging copy? Then add it as a domain of its own in DirectAdmin with ADD NEW.
A wildcard certificate covers first-level subdomains, such as shop.yourdomain.com. It needs the domain to use Inleed’s nameservers. Turn on an SSL certificate for your website
