Test your website with a temporary address
With a temporary address you can see the website on your hosting before the domain points here, for example while you build a new site or move to Inleed.
If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:
Done. Here’s the temporary address, where the website shows without the domain pointing here.
How to test it
- 1
Log in to the client area and click Manage next to your hosting.
Your hosting’s page opens.
- 2
Click Create temporary URL.
How to know it worked
Done
You get an address where the website shows, without the domain having to point here.
If something doesn’t work
The temporary address sends you on to the old website
Why: WordPress’s address settings (HOME and SITE URL) point to the domain.
What to do: Test with your computer’s hosts file instead. Add your hosting’s IP address and the domain there, and your computer opens the website on your hosting. The IP address is under Hosting Specifics.
Good to know
- Want to test changes on a website that is already live? Make a staging copy on a subdomain with its own public_html. The original is not affected.
