Connect your router to the fibre box
The router connects to the fibre box with a network cable and should get its address automatically. That applies both to your own router and to the router from us.
Before you start
- You need a network cable and a router. The router isn’t included with the broadband.
How to connect it
- 1
Connect a network cable from the fibre box’s LAN port to the router’s WAN port, often labelled Internet.
Don’t use the fibre box’s WAN port.
Your own router
You already have a router.
- 2
Check that the router gets its address automatically (DHCP).
It doesn’t work with a fixed IP address.
- 3
Restart the router.
Router from Inleed (Comfast)
You bought the router from us.
- 2
Restart the router.
- 3
Connect to the wifi network
COMFAST_XXXX, where XXXX is the last 4 characters of the router’s MAC address. You reach the router’s settings at this address.
How to know it worked
Done
The internet works through the router and its wifi.
If something doesn’t work
No internet through the router
What to do: Unplug everything except the power and the WAN cable, and test again. If that doesn’t help, go through the troubleshooting.
Internet isn’t workingI can’t find the wifi name and password
What to do: They’re usually on a label on the router. We don’t have them.
Good to know
- A router isn’t included with the broadband. You can buy one from us.
- You can use your own router if it isn’t locked to another provider. A router for coaxial cable won’t work.
