Email isn’t working after moving to Inleed

After a move to Inleed, email can stop working because the DNS records point the wrong way, the email accounts aren’t created yet, or email is still going to the old provider.

Updated 6 Nov 2026

Common causes

1Email arrives only sometimes, or ends up at the old provider

Check

Did you change nameservers in the last 48 hours? Meanwhile, email can go to both the old and the new provider.

What to do

Wait, and check webmail at both the old and the new provider.

2No email arrives at all

Check

Have the email accounts been created at Inleed?

What to do

Create the email accounts at Inleed. They’re created again after a move, with new passwords.

Create an email account
3Email bounces or goes to the wrong server

Check

Does the MX record, or the A record for mail, point the wrong way in the new zone?

What to do

MX should be 10 mail.yourdomain.com, and mail should point to your hosting’s IP address.

I can’t receive email
4Email you send ends up in the spam folder

Check

Are DKIM or DMARC missing from the new zone?

What to do

Set up DKIM and DMARC for the domain.

Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain
5Old email doesn’t show up

Check

Is the old email still with the old provider?

What to do

Move it over to Inleed.

Move your email from another provider

Good to know

  • Once the nameserver change is done, switch your email apps to mail.inleed.com.
