Done
The FTP account works straight away.
If something doesn’t work
SFTP doesn’t work with the FTP account
Why: Separate FTP accounts don’t work with SFTP. Only the DirectAdmin account does.
What to do: Choose FTP as the protocol in your program. If you need SFTP, log in with the DirectAdmin account on port 2020.
The program can’t find the server
Why: You’re using ftp.yourdomain.com, but the domain doesn’t point to your hosting yet.
What to do: Use the server name instead. You’ll find it in the client area on your hosting’s page under Hosting Specifics, on the SSH row.
You can’t log in after changing the password
Why: Attempts with the old password may have blocked your IP address in the firewall.
What to do: Whitelist your IP address in the client area and try again with the new password.
