Troubleshooting

The old website still shows

You’ve moved your website to Inleed, but the old site still shows. Work through the causes from the top.

Updated 6 Nov 2026

Common causes

1You recently changed the nameservers

Check

Did you change the nameservers less than 48 hours ago?

What to do

Wait. It can take up to 48 hours before the change shows everywhere, and meanwhile the website can switch between the old and the new one. It can’t be sped up.

2The domain still has the old provider’s nameservers

Check

Are the old provider’s nameservers still set on the domain?

What to do

Switch to Inleed’s nameservers. Don’t switch until all the content has been moved.

3The A record points to the old server

Check

Does the A record for the domain and www still point to the old server’s IP address?

What to do

Change the A record for the domain and for www to your hosting’s IP address. You’ll find it under Hosting Specifics in the client area.

Add a DNS record
4Only your own computer shows the old one

Check

Does the old website only show on your computer, but not for others?

What to do

Your computer or browser has saved the old address. Try on your phone without wifi, or in a private window.

5The website shows as “Not secure”

Check

Do the domain and www point to Inleed? Only then can an SSL certificate be created here.

What to do

Turn on the SSL certificate in DirectAdmin once the domain points to your hosting.

Good to know

  • Keep your services with the old provider until the move is finished.
  • Changes you make on the old website during the move don’t come along.
