Google and other services can’t reach your website

The server’s security protection (Imunify360) can stop a service that tries to reach your website. It can also be a setting on the website. Start with the cause at the top.

Right guide?

Is it about AI crawlers like GPTBot or ClaudeBot? Do you block AI crawlers like GPTBot and ClaudeBot?

Common causes

1The service calls from another country

Check

Do the calls come from abroad? Imunify360 blocks traffic from certain high-risk countries.

What to do

Email support with the service’s name or IP addresses, and we can make an exception for them.

2The service is stopped after many calls

Check

Does the service make many calls in a short time? The protection can then take it for an attack.

What to do

Email support with the time and the service’s IP address.

3Google can’t reach robots.txt

Check

Does a rule in .htaccess redirect /robots.txt to another address?

What to do

Correct or remove the rule and test the address again.

4WordPress blocks search engines

Check

Is the setting that blocks search engines turned on in WordPress under Settings › Reading?

What to do

Turn the setting off and save.

5It affects your own office or computer

Check

Is it your own IP address that’s being stopped, not a service?

What to do

Whitelist your IP address.
