Disable a ModSecurity rule for your domain
The Web Application Firewall (ModSecurity) stops suspicious requests to your website. If it stops something that should work, you can exclude a rule or turn it off for the domain.
If you’ve connected Inleed to an AI app, just write what you want done, for example:
The app finds the rule and prepares the change. You approve it in the client area.
How to disable it
- 1
Log in to DirectAdmin and open Web Application Firewall under Advanced Features.
- 2
Click ⋯ on the domain’s row and choose Modify.
Exclude one rule
You know which rule is blocking. The rule ID is in the Audit log on the same page.
- 3
Enter the rule ID in the Rule ID field, for example
1234or a range like1234-1239. - 4
Click Add exclusion.
- 5
Click Save Configuration.
Turn it off for the domain
You want to troubleshoot, or can’t find the rule.
Important
Without the firewall your website is more exposed to attacks. It’s better to exclude only the rule that gets in the way, and turn the protection back on when you’ve finished troubleshooting.
- 3
Choose Disabled.
- 4
Click Save Configuration.
How to know it worked
Done
The rule, or the whole firewall, no longer stops requests to the domain.
Waiting time
It can take a few minutes before the change takes effect.
