Password-protect a folder on your website

With password protection, visitors must log in with a username and password to see a folder on your website. You set it up in DirectAdmin.

How to protect the folder

    Log in to DirectAdmin and open Password Protected Directories.

  2. 2

    Choose the folder you want to protect.

  3. 3

    Turn on the protection and enter a username and a password.

  4. 4

    Save.

Visitors must log in to see the folder.

Good to know

  • Use https, so the password is sent encrypted. SSL certificates are included for free. Turn on an SSL certificate for your website
  • Want to force every visitor to https? Turn on Force SSL with https redirect for the domain in DirectAdmin.
