Export a database
An export saves a copy of the database on your computer. Export it in DirectAdmin, or with phpMyAdmin if you want to choose tables or format.
How to export it

In DirectAdmin
You want the whole database in one file.

Log in to DirectAdmin, open Databases and click Manage next to the database.

Click Export as SQL, or Export as GZ for a smaller, compressed file.
The file downloads to your computer.

With phpMyAdmin

Log in to DirectAdmin, open Databases and click phpMyAdmin.
phpMyAdmin opens in a new tab.

Click the database in the list.

Open the Export tab.

Leave Quick and the SQL format as they are and click Export.
How to know it worked
Done
A file with the whole database is in the downloads folder on your computer.

- If you are moving the website, you need both the database and the files. Download a copy of your website
